[VIDEO] Chowdeck Riders Earn N100,000 Weekly, CEO Femi Aluko Says
Chowdeck CEO Femi Aluko has disclosed that riders on the food delivery platform earn an average of N100,000 per week, with top performers earning significantly more.
In an interview with Channels Television, Aluko said earnings are determined by the number of deliveries completed and distance covered, as riders are also paid per kilometre.
The interviewer noted this translates to about N400,000 monthly for bicycle riders. Aluko confirmed the calculation but noted riders incur maintenance costs for their bicycles.
Key points:
Riders can earn competitive income but must cover their own maintenance costs.
The platform’s payment model rewards higher delivery volumes and longer distances.
Gig economy jobs offer income opportunities amid Nigeria’s unemployment crisis.
High earnings may attract more riders, increasing competition and pressure.
Sustainability of such earnings depends on demand and operational costS
Chowdeck’s rider earnings highlight opportunities in Nigeria’s gig economy. Observers should watch whether such income levels remain sustainable as competition grows.
