Bitrus Kaze, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, has expressed his disbelief that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Simon Mwadkwon, should participate in the forthcoming re-run election for the Plateau-North Senatorial District. He made this statement during an interview on Arise Television.
Kaze’s argument is rooted in the belief that the PDP was responsible for the initial annulment of the election into the national assembly for Plateau-North. According to him, his extensive political experience of over 30 years, including serving in the national assembly, suggests that a re-run election should not allow a party that failed to comply with court judgments and conduct proper primaries.
It’s important to note that the Appeal Court ruled that Simon Mwadkwon, representing the PDP, didn’t win the initial Senatorial election in Plateau-North due to the PDP’s failure to follow court judgments mandating a fresh congress before candidate selection
