Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the February 25th election, Datti Baba-Ahmed has stated that a photo of him greeting Tinubu in a mosque was misconstrued as a plea for something, but in reality, it was simply an act of showing respect due to Tinubu’s age.
Datti made this clarification during an interview with Arise TV. He stated that he holds a great deal of respect for Tinubu. He also recalled how he faced criticism from Omoyele Sowore for referring to Tinubu as “Uncle”. He added that he only used the term as a sign of respect.
In Datti’s words: “Look, even Tinubu, I have much respect for Tinubu. You heard Sowore criticizing me for calling Tinubu ‘Uncle’. I called him uncle.
