Haaland Reacts to Controversial Goal in Man City Win Over Man Utd
Erling Haaland has said it was a “great feeling” to seal Manchester City’s controversial 1-0 win at Manchester United on Sunday after his goal survived a VAR review.
Haaland netted on the hour mark from Josko Gvardiol’s cross after City were reduced to 10 men following Phil Foden’s red card. The goal was initially disallowed for offside but was overturned, even though Enzo Fernandez was in an offside position and attempted to reach the ball.
Haaland said he took it personally that officials thought he was offside, adding, “I’m never usually offside.” City manager Enzo Maresca praised the win as special.
