Bali, whose election victory was upturned by national and state election petitions tribunal sitting in Jos stressed that he can not understand the ruling by the court.
Speaking in an interview on Arise TV, “I can tell you because of some of these judgments, I am already looking for a competent school of law to also go and try and read law.”
The petition tribunal sitting in Jos has declared Simon Lalong, the minister of labor and employment, as the winner of the Plateau South district.
The comes after The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had already declared Napoleon Bali as the winner of the election and issued him a certificate of return.
The commission had announced that Bali secured 148,844 votes while Lalong scored 91, 674 to come runner-up in the February 25 election.
But on Monday, the court sacked Bali and ruled that Lalong was the winner of the election.
“I remember the electoral tribunal in Abuja clearly stating APM, are you in APC, why are you poke-nosing into the affairs of APC. Now, the question is even if PDP is not clearly constituted why is the Justice poke-nosing into the affairs?” he quizzed.
“Is Lalong in PDP? No. So, like I told you, this issue is not a do-or-die affair. We are going to challenge it in the Appeal Court and at the end of it all, whatever that is the decision of the court, I am going to take it in good faith.”
“Like I told you, I left the military and still think I have to contribute in developing this country and that is why I joined politics. I can tell you because of some of these judgments, I am already looking for a competent school of law to also go and try and read law.”
