“Fake Fundraiser Alert: Public Warned Against Viral Scam Targeting Late Toluwanisings’ Family”

Close friends and colleagues of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, have issued a public warning over a fraudulent online fundraising campaign soliciting donations for his surviving family.

The alert follows the viral spread of a fundraising flyer bearing the late minister’s photograph across social media platforms, falsely urging well-wishers to contribute financially toward the welfare of his wife and children.

Reacting to the scam, fellow gospel singer Lanre Alewilese issued an official disclaimer, distancing the late artist’s family and management from the unauthorized appeal.

“Disclaimer!!! This is not true please. Please let’s report this page massively. If at all something like this will come up it will be from this page. Thank you,” Alewilese wrote on his verified Instagram page.

Colleagues and industry figures have urged fans, sympathizers, and the general public to disregard any unauthorized donation links and verify all future announcements through official channels managed directly by the singer’s immediate family and ministry.

The incident comes shortly after the singer’s family confirmed his passing on October 14, 2026, which triggered widespread grief across the gospel music industry.
