The Nigeria Democratic Congress in Enugu State has condemned an attack on its members by suspected political thugs at Ihuani Awkunanaw, Nkanu Council Area.
Eight persons sustained gunshot injuries when hoodlums invaded a ward meeting and opened fire. Canopies, chairs and party materials were destroyed. The party described the attack as political thuggery and an attempt to intimidate opposition through violence. It called on police, DSS and security agencies to investigate and prosecute perpetrators.
