The cleric has been accused of inciting violence by supposedly calling for the assassination of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the President’s wife, labeling her an infidel due to her Christian faith.
This call to action occurred at the conclusion of the 2024 National Prayer Day and the 1st Quarter National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of YOWICAN, which took place at the National Christian Centre in Abuja on a Friday.
Belusochukwu Enwere, Chairman of YOWICAN, expressed the collective stance of the council in a communiqué, emphasizing the urgent necessity for the government and security agencies to intervene.
The communiqué partly stated, “NEC is calling for the immediate arrest of the Muslim Cleric (Idris Abdulaziz Dusen Tenshi) who has called for the killing of the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for being a Christian and describing her as an infidel.
“The NEC is calling for the public prosecution of the cleric and wish to request the said preacher should be restricted from preaching in Nigeria to serve as a deterrent to others.”
The NEC meeting also tackled broader national issues, including the economic hardships faced by citizens due to increasing living costs and the deteriorating state of security characterized by widespread killings across the country.….CONTINUE READING>>>>>>
