Mark Robinette from Pickaway County, Ohio, and his sons Gideon, 17, and Liam, 10, died on Tuesday as a blaze ripped through their home.

The 55-year-old father of eight leaped into action when he realized that his home was on fire in the middle of the night.

He launched his wife Andrea and two of his children out of the window and then searched for Gideon and Liam in their bedrooms upstairs.

“My cousin, Mark Robinette passed away yesterday while attempting to rescue his children from the fire,” his cousin Haley McGuire wrote on Facebook.

As the family grieves for those they lost in the fire, they have been left homeless with only the night clothes they were wearing at the time of the fire

“He managed to throw his wife and other children out the windows and went in to get his other two sons, Gideon (17) and Liam (10).

“He was found holding onto them both, the 3 of them never made it out.”

A press release from the Ohio Department of Commerce confirmed that fire officials were called to the incident at around 12:22 am on Tuesday.

There is no indication of foul play in the cause of the fire which is still under investigation by the Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau, Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.

“I’m so sorry to your family,” one Orient resident said underneath Haley’s Facebook post.

“Pastor Mark was an incredibly loved man of God. He will be missed, I’m thankful the Eternal difference he made will live on forever.

“Praying for all of you.”

“I’m so sorry. There are just no other words,” another added.

“I can’t imagine how the wife feels losing husband, kids, and house,” one said.

“I pray the Lord is with her every step of the way! Please let me know what I can donate to help out.”

A GoFundMe page has been established to raise money for the family that has lost everything.

“Their house and all of their belongings were completely destroyed, and it is the dead of winter,” the page states.

“They are left with the night clothes they were wearing and their vehicle and that is all.

“But by the grace of God, it could’ve been any of our families.”

At the time of writing, $228,327 has been raised for the family which is near the fundraising target of $250,000.

An update informed donors that money was being released to the family to help with “immediate needs.”
