Addressing the topic, Paul said, “The first thing is how to boost the food supply. Truthfully, we lack the capacity to produce the food ourselves. Therefore, regarding the key staple foods consumed in Nigeria, I strongly advise the government to allow raw materials to come into Nigeria, especially in areas where we have shortages, and this includes rice.

He continued, “Instead of importing rice into Nigeria, I advise FG to allow us to import paddy rice. I advise this because our farms are unsafe. We already have mills in Nigeria. Lagos State has the largest mill, even though I doubt if it is operating at the right capacity. We have large mills in the north-east, north-west, and north-central. Nasarawa State is another example. How do we allow these mills to become functional? This is not limited to rice but to major produce for which we lack sufficient output. However, this must not become a lifestyle.
