The report was released soon after the electoral body provided an explanation for the failure of the result viewing portal (IReV) to operate on election day.

The report released by INEC shows that the Labour Party presidential candidate had a landslide win in the South-East. Obi secured 87.79% votes in the region. He also won in the South-South, securing 42.37% votes in the region.

According to the report by POSTREPORTERS, INEC said in its report, “In the North-West, the APC won 39.54%, followed by the PDP with 34.87%, and LP with 4.08%. In the South-East, LP led with 87.79%, with the APC having 5.71% and the PDP 4.08%.

“Similarly, LP led in the South-South with 42.37%, followed by the APC with 27.99% and the PDP with 26.12%. In the South-West, the APC led with 53.59% followed by the PDP with 22.14% and the LP with 19.97%.”

The Commission also revealed that in the North East, the PDP secured slightly over fifty percent of the votes there (50.67%), while the APC came second there with 29.16%, and the Labour Party had 6.09%.

In the North Central, the APC secured victory there with 38.58% of the votes, followed by the Labour Party with 31.01%. The PDP came third there with 25.46%.

President Bola Tinubu was declared the winner of the election after securing the highest number of votes. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second in the race, while Peter Obi came third.
