Having lost their top goalscorer Jude Bellingham to injury, Carlo Ancelotti replaced the Englishman with Brahim Diaz, with Lucas Vazquez also making way in the starting XI for the returning Nacho Fernandez.

The home side started brightly and even took an early lead through Benjamin Sesko, but unfortunately the goal was ruled out.

There were claims that the goal was cancelled because a Leipzig player was adjudged to be offside, but it’s now been confirmed that the goal was disallowed because of a foul on Madrid keeper Andrey Lunin in the buildup.

According to CentreGoals on X, Lunin who was trying to catch the ball was pushed by an opponent player.
