Speaking in Gwarangah, Bogoro Local Council of Bauchi State, Buhari said that the late Saratu Yakubu Tukur was a mother, who invested hugely in training her children aside being dedication to humanity.

The ex-president, represented by the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, prayed for the Yakubu family to emulate the good legacies of Mama Saratu.

“I extend my heartfelt condolence to you and your family. May the Lord be with you,” Buhari said. Saratu Yakubu died in December 2023 at the age of 103 and was laid to rest in Gwarangah Community where she lived and died. The deceased left six children among whom was the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, her last child.

Important dignitaries in society, captains of industries, traditional leaders and gospel music celebrities trooped to Gwarangah to honour Dogara and his siblings.

Among the dignitaries are the Governor of Niger State, Mohammad Umar Baggo; representatives of governors of Kaduna State, Plateau; former Governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda; ex-deputies of Kogi, Gombe, Nasarawa; former SGF Babachir Lawal; former speakers, Dimeji Bankole, Aminu Tambuwal; ex-Minister of Women Affairs, Paulen Tallen; second republic minister, Bello Kirfi; Senator Abdul Ningi; Senator Nazif Gamawa APC Bauchi State governorship candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar; Bauchi State NNPP governorship candidate for 2023, Senator Haliru Dauda Jika.
