According to The Nation, Following a significant security operation in Rivers State led by law enforcement, reports have surfaced indicating the possible demise of Gift Okpara, known as 2Baba, a notorious figure in the local underworld. 2Baba had been implicated in the heinous murder of former Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim.

SP Angbashim had been ambushed and seized by 2Baba’s gang in Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA, back in September 2023. Subsequently, he was taken into the forest, where he met his tragic demise at the hands of the cultists, who gruesomely filmed the act.
According to insider accounts, 2Baba sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the raid, causing him to collapse. However, some of his loyal followers managed to evacuate him from the scene, complicating efforts to confirm his fate.
Witnesses reported a sizable security presence during the operation, with approximately 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) spotted in the vicinity. While there has been no official confirmation of 2Baba’s death, local communities in Ahoada reportedly celebrated upon hearing the news.
Residents expressed gratitude towards CP Olatunji Disu, the state Commissioner of Police, acknowledging his tireless endeavors to combat criminal activities in the area.
