Daily News 24 reports that the housewife, Sa’adatu Muktar, 21, was arrested by the Hisbah operatives at a hotel in Bama Road, in Sabon Gari area of Kano city on Saturday.

It was learnt that Sa’adatu, originally a native of Katsina state, came to Kano after she allegedly lied to her husband, one Abubakar that she was was traveling to Katsina to visit her parents.

Instead, the housewife sneaked into Kano and first stayed with her friend, one Salma at Hotoro Tinshama area of Kano where she said she spent one week.

According to her, she then moved to Dan Bare, another neighbourhood in Kano, where she rented a hotel room and stayed for two days before she again moved to Sabon Gari, where she was arrested.

“I left my husband’s house 10 days ago and came to Kano state, where I stayed with my friend Salma at Tinshama area.

“I met Salma in Katsina even though she is from Kano state,” Sa’adatu told Hisbah officials.

She added: “I then moved to Dan Bare area, where I rented a room at Nurain hotel in Unguwar Wapa before moving again to Sabon Gari”.

The housewife also told the Hisbah officials that she had collaborated with some people people to claim that she had been kidnapped and demanded a ransom payment of N30 million form her husband.

“Yes I conspired with some people to say that I was kidnapped so that my husband can pay N30 million ransom.

“But I did that all as a joke, I was not being serious at all,” she said.

It gathered that when Sa’adatu’s husband, Mr Abubakar received a call from his wife, claiming to be kidnapped, he became suspicious and engaged the police, who tracked her phone to Kano.

Mr Abubkar, who refused to send the ransom payment, then came to Kano and filed a complaint at the Kano Hisbah Board, who traced his wife, Ms Sa’adatu to a hotel in Sabon Gari area, where they arrested her.

Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, the Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board (DCG), confirmed the issue and said Ms Sa’adatu has already been handed over to her husband, who came with the police from Kaduna.

“It is unfortunate that this things are happening. A housewife lied to her husband that she was visiting her parents in Katsina, but came to Kano instead and rented hotels, where she was doing immoral things.

“To make matters worse, this houswife even faked her own kidnap and demanded a N30 million ransom payment from her husband. But we thank Allah that our people succeeded in arresting her.

“She has been handed over to her husband, who came with the police from Kaduna,” Dr Mujahid said.

He called on husbands to monitor their wives and give them education and moral upbringing to prevent occurrences like this.…..CONTINUE READING>>>>>>
