However, in a report by Vanguard, Josef Onoh, the former spokesperson for President Tinubu in the southeast, reacted to Bwala’s statement. He said that supporters like him are in hiding due to past statements made by Bwala.

According to Onoh, Bwala had stated that President Tinubu might be disqualified from the 2023 presidential elections due to alleged connections to a drug trafficking case in the United States. He said Bwala had also expressed low expectations for ministers appointed by Tinubu and he questioned why Bwala is now complaining of their performance

In Onoh’s words: “We are in hiding because you told us that President Tinubu may be disqualified from contesting the 2023 presidential elections over his connection to a drug trafficking case in the United States of America. We are in hiding because you told us that you did not expect the ministers sworn in by President Bola Tinubu to perform at more than 15 percent.
