Right from the kickoff, Arsenal displayed their intent, pressing Newcastle’s defense relentlessly. The early exchanges saw Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice testing the Newcastle goalkeeper, Loris Karius, with fierce shots. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Gabriel Magalhães’ header, saved brilliantly by Karius, was inadvertently turned into the net by Sven Botman, putting Arsenal in the lead.

Arsenal didn’t ease off after the opener, doubling their advantage just minutes later. Jorginho’s precise pass found Gabriel Martinelli, whose cutback was neatly converted by Kai Havertz. Newcastle struggled to muster any response, failing to register a single shot in the first half, much to the frustration of their manager, Eddie Howe.

The second half saw a spirited effort from Newcastle, with Anthony Gordon forcing a save from David Raya early on. However, Arsenal’s class shone through once again as Bukayo Saka danced past defenders to slot home a superb individual goal. Jakub Kiwior then added to Newcastle’s misery, heading in Declan Rice’s corner to make it 4-0.

Despite a late consolation goal from former Arsenal player Joe Willock, Newcastle’s fate was sealed.

Elsewhere, Manchester City extended their dominant record against Bournemouth with a narrow 1-0 victory, marking their 14th consecutive league win over the Cherries. The visitors broke their trend of trailing in away games by taking the lead through Phil Foden, who capitalized on a rebound from Erling Haaland’s effort.

Haaland and Foden displayed promising chemistry throughout the game, with the former providing an assist opportunity early on, only for his shot to miss the target. Bournemouth had their chances, notably with Milos Kerkez’s powerful strike well-saved by Ederson.

The hosts showed determination in the second half, with Marcus Tavernier and Dominic Solanke threatening City’s defense. Despite their efforts, Bournemouth couldn’t find the equalizer, with Ederson making crucial saves to deny them.

As the match progressed, Bournemouth’s desperation led to several overhit crosses, squandering potential opportunities. Substitute Enes Ünal came close to salvaging a point with a late header, but it narrowly missed the target.
