According to Punch, in a statement released by the hospital’s management, signed by Rolake Adewumi, the Head of Corporate Affairs Department, Prof. Olabanji stated, “Management will not tolerate any act of violence or mayhem being unleashed on members of staff of the hospital.”

The hoodlums, reportedly angered by the man’s demise, took the drastic step of removing the deceased from the Accident and Emergency Ward on Monday morning.

To address the situation, EKSUTH management, in collaboration with police authorities, engaged with the state Chairman of the Road Transport Association, mandating him to identify and produce the ringleader involved in the incident, as there were indications that the individual was a member of the association.

As a precautionary measure, the hospital management deployed four armed policemen at the Accident and Emergency section and two armed policemen at the main gate to enhance security until further notice.

The Division Police Officer in charge of Oke-Ila Division, SP Sesan Falade, assured the hospital of frequent patrols to safeguard its premises.

Prof. Olabanji further stated that a similar incident had occurred at the Neo-Natal Ward recently, and the person involved was already facing legal consequences, with the case currently in court.

While urging the hospital staff to remain calm, the CMD assured that the management was taking decisive steps to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.……CONTINUE READING>>>>>>
